What this site isn't.
Many [most] [virtually all] architecture firms have what is essentially an online portfolio as a website.  Pretty pictures of their projects, resumes, maybe a mission statement.  A few have a blog that's linked from their main page.  That model is tranferred directly from print media: it could just as well be a pamphlet handed out to each and every visitor.  As a result, the websites of many a design firm have a traffic profile that speaks to a lack of engagement: 20 seconds spent on the front page, then maybe (maybe!) a single click from there.  And no repeat visits.
What this site IS.
We're going in a different direction here.  The root of the idea for W5's website, and practice, is this: focus on the process, and the results will speak for themselves.  So you'll see articles here, not photo spreads.  The content will be related to our projects, but it won't be slick marketing stuff.  Our intention is to explain why we do what we do, to dig deeper into design than "golly that looks cool!" and to build an audience (and I won't lie: client base) that values that kind of honesty, discussion, and interest in design as a way to positively affect experiences.

So, the articles will be wide-ranging in content.  We'll have guest authors in order to bring in different perspectives.  There will be articles that focus explicitly on our projects, including photos as pretty as we can manage, but we will hew to the principle that everything we say should be something worth hearing.  And as an extension of that, every article will have a way for you to comment and join the discussion.  So please do.
